I replaced a starter on 2012 fiat 500, i have both battery cable and alternator cable on starter, but the starter does.. hey bud here is the wiring diagram! so the brown white wire is definitely the trigger wire. also I attached a photo showing a starer solenoid located below the starter and the brown white wire will go were the nut labeled..
