EFI Fuel Line Routing Using Corvette LS9904 Filter / Regulator The above diagram shows how to route your fuel lines when using a Corvette fuel filter / regulator part # LS9904.. The early Gen III engines from 1997 to 1998 and some 1999 engines used a return fuel line system while the 1999 and newer LS engines used a returnless fuel system. If you are installing a later-style Gen III or Gen IV engine, you don't have to route a fuel line back to the tank.
