Attach PT100 or PT1000 RTD You'll need to attach an RTD, for this demo we'll be using a 3-wire 1 meter long one but you can adjust the demo if you have a 2 or 4 wire. Check the RTD wiring page for the jumpers and wiring requirements!. RTDs are used to measure the temperature of the process, bearings, and motor windings. RTD's resistance changes with change in temperature and this is used in many applications to measure temperature. RTDs work generally with three RTD wiring configurations - 2- wire, 3- wire, and 4- wire.
The shield has connections for either four 3-wire RTD temperature sensors or three 4-channel RTD temperature sensors or seven 2-wire RTD temperature sensors. An Arduino software library is available below that will make it super easy for you to get temperature readings. Works with 4-wire, 3-wire, and 2-wire RTDs. Works with Pt-100 and Pt-1000 RTDs. It can also be used as a precision ohmmeter.. Learn how to use RTD Sensors and MAX31865 with Arduino. With wiring diagrams and code examples for 2-, 3- and 4-wire RTD Sensors.
