I have Recently acquired and old Ford 3000 Diesel and need to know what type of Lubricants / Fluids to use in it. Engine Oil, Hydraulic Fluid for the lift, Brake Fluid, Anti-Freeze and Rear End dope.. As Ultradog said, there's a few places to put fluid in that model tractor. Where are you checking to see that it's low on hydraulic fluid? The tractor's main hydraulics sump for the 3 point lift is also the rear axle/differential housing.

Hi guys, Does anyone have a Ford 3000 manual and can tell me the type of transmission and rear end fluids (and capacities) I need for my 1965 Ford 3000? I'm hoping to just buy some at Walmart or Fleetfarm. I'm waiting for my user manual to arrive. Thanks, Brad. Howdy csi-tech, What fluid did you put in the rear differential section? UTF equivalent to ford spec 134DC, or gear oil? If used gear oil, then this is part of your problem. Ford approved the use of spec 134D many years ago. The hydraulics perform better with 134D. See item #20 on the attached parts diagram. Square headed pipe plug, used to test or to prime the pump. Open the plug on the pump.
