To thread, simply place the bobbin in the case with the thread running clockwise. Brother: Brother machines often feature a quick-set bobbin system. Just drop the bobbin in and pull the thread through the guide - it's that easy! Janome: Janome offers both front-loading and top-loading models. Their front-loading machines often require you.. Make sure the free thread is hanging to the right of the bobbin case's metal extension (or horn, as Janome says). The metal extension is the straight part of the bobbin case that sticks out. Put the bobbin case inside your machine. The metal extension should be at 12 o'clock (so pointing straight up).

A bobbin on the other hand does not come with thread on it. As I mentioned before, its your job to wind the bobbin with thread. Spools of thread are usually larger than the bobbin, and longer in length. Both your spool of thread, AND your bobbin with thread, come together to create the stitches with your sewing machine.. Insert the bobbin into the bobbin case, making sure the thread tail is in the groove or slot provided. Guide the thread tail through the latch on the bobbin case. Place the bobbin case back into the bobbin compartment, ensuring it is securely latched into place. Hold the thread tail and gently pull to make sure the thread is properly tensioned.
