When the switch is clicked to Start, it retards the timing of the ignition, then when you click it to Run, it advances the timing normally which causes it to be able to rev higher. You may have an air leak, so check the seal of the boot between the carburetor and intake. Make sure it doesn't have any holes in it or other areas that aren't tight.. #pw50 #yamahapw50 #carburetorA common method of squeezing a little more power out of the Yamaha PW50 is to upsize the main jet.
