The TD 147 was a 1-step belt-drive turntable manufactured by the Thorens Corporation. It has the Thorens Isotrack TP16 Mark III tonearm, which is 230 mm in length, consisting of cartridge wand TP-63. The motor technology uses 16-pole two-phase synchronous design with slip-clutch for instantaneous start.. Well, in a way, the 145 had two successors: the 146 and the 147 (introduced in 1983 and 1982) - and like the 145, both can be regarded as semi-automatic versions of the 160. However, the 146 was the cheaper implementation (pretty much equal to the manual 166, whereas the 147 pretty much equals the manual luxury version of the 160, the TD160 Super.
