I haven't read the book, but these are the spoilers I've read: She ends up with Cole. She breaks it off with Alex first, and then, she and Cole share their feelings/kiss before she heads off to NYC. There's also an expectation that they will be together officially, whenever she returns.. She and Alex have a very clean breakup before she leaves, and rather than continuing the love triangle between them, Alex is with someone else.
