He was portrayed by Anthony Perkins in the 1960 film adaptation.. When talking about The Bates Motel, people often get the image of being stabbed to death in the shower by Norman Bates. However, we are not talking about The Bates Motel from the movie Psycho, but the real Bates Motel in Coeur d' Alene in Idaho. According to guests and employees of the motel, there is constant ghostly activity there.
