Hi!! we are visiting Aruba in October and will need to hire a car, but reading some of the reviews, I am wandering if we should rent a jeep instead, as we want to drive to the natural pool, baby beach and all the main attractions of the island. The only thing is that we have a 20 months old baby, so would prefer to rent a car, plus is cheaper.. Any suggestions please!. Cons of Not Having a Car in Aruba. Limited Mobility: Without a car, getting around the island can be challenging and time-consuming.; Dependence on Public Transportation: Bus schedules may not align with your itinerary, leading to delays in your plans.; Restricted Exploration: You might miss out on hidden gems and off-the-beaten-path attractions that are easier to access with a car.
Do you need a Car in Aruba ? Question. You don't NEED a car if you're staying at a hotel. So easy to get a cab, or a tour. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Sure you can rent a car to drive around the island but it is not necessary. I'm on vacation mode. No worrying about drinking and driving.. No you certainly do not need to rent a car. We have been to Aruba 13 or 14 times and have rented a car 2 or 3 times for one day each time. This is an unpopular opinion here but in my opinion there really are no MUST do things to see in Aruba. The lighthouse, chapel, national park, etc. are all fine and not a waste of time, but are not a must see.
